My Childhood Facination
This week I went to a writers workshop. For the prompt I had to write a poem about shoe laces and robots.
I stare down at my shoelaces:
A pile of slithering snakes
Slinking along the pavement.
Looping the laces
With careful precision
I smile at the chaos:
A last reminder of childhood bliss
And the creation of coverse.
I marvel
At the tiny white strings:
The corset of my sole.
Shoelaces are like abstract art:
Is it a bunny rabbit
Or a bowtie?
I sigh,
No robot could understand
My childhood facination
With shoelaces...

Random Reflections
I was studying for Communications and I needed a break. So I came up with a poem to distract me. The point is that its pure randomness.
Slivers of the moon
Cut through the skin.
Glass eyes frozen by time
Sting the soul.
The clock moves backward;
I take two steps forward.
Time skips a beat.
My heart wanders
To remote corridors
With blue musty curtains
Draping the windows.
Invisible rainbows
reflect gold coins in the twilight.
The taste of strawberry
Stains my taste buds
And I realize the words on my tongue
Have lost their flavor.

L-O-V-E
"Do you think love is a trick nature plays on us to make babies? Or do you think that it's everything:the only meaning we have to this crazy dream?"

Ryan Adams - Sweet Illusions
I love this song and the truth that it presents in any relationship. Its the inspiration for my poem No Nonsense.

No Nonsense
I followed the illusion,
And got played by time.
I rose me up like Ozymandias
And became a ruin in the desert.
Naiveté slit my throat
and left me to drown in assumption.
and left me to drown in assumption.
The piercing sting
Led me back to the reality of
Sand dunes and obsolete horizons.
Sweet Confusion and Broken Hope
Whispered nonsense in my ears.
